This is another beer that my uncle sent to me from his home outside of Houston in addition to Brazos Valley’s 7 Spanish Angels, which I previously reviewed. I loved Parish Brewing’s Ghost in the Machine (I’ve been seeing a ton of people post Other Half Brewing’s version of that beer, but the original is amazing) so I was excited to try their Dr. Juice New England IPA.
Brewery: Parish Brewing Co. (Broussard, LA)
Rating: 84/100
Comments: Pours a hazy straw to light golden color with an abundant foamy white head that left a good amount of lacing on the glass and had great retention. The aroma is more herbal and piney than I’d expect from a beer with this name, but I do get some dankness and juicy tropical fruits at the end. The flavor matches the style more closely, with some mango, pineapple, wet hops, and orange citrus. It has low bitterness, low carbonation, and a sweet, sticky mouthfeel.
