Some people in the craft beer community refer to something called a “porch bomb” – a package full of beer that arrives on their porch because someone shipped it to them. My aunt and uncle living just outside of Houston recently surprised me with a porch bomb of my own, full of some of my uncle’s favorite brews at the moment. Brazos Valley’s 7 Spanish Angels Cold Pressed Coffee Ale was the first one I opened, and I immediately saw why he loves it so much!
Brewery: Brazos Valley Brewing Co. (Brenham, TX)
Rating: 90/100
Comments: Pours a clear ruby brown color with a good amount of light brown head. Huge amount of coffee in the aroma, along with chocolate, caramel, biscuity malt, and some raisin. The cold brewed coffee also dominates the flavor with some dark chocolate coming in at the end. On the sweet side, but not too much for me. It’s a light-bodied, moderately carbonated beer that is really tasty.
