I’ve driven by Hermit Thrush’s taproom in Brattleboro, VT but haven’t been able to stop in yet, unfortunately. I know I’ll definitely stop in the next time I’m going through town though, and Brattlebeer Wild Ale helped make that a surety. This wild ale is brewed with local apples, and it’s really evident – in a great way!
Brewery: Hermit Thrush Brewery (Brattleboro, VT)
Rating: 87/100
Comments: Brattlebeer pours a just barely hazy golden color. Its head is very active but dissipates quickly. The aroma has lactic sour, sour green apples, and some musty funk. The taste isn’t quite as strong as the aroma, but is close to a tart apple juice with a bit of lemon at the end. It’s pretty crisp, dry, and refreshing.
