An illness struck and we fell behind, but we are back with beer number 5 from the 24 New York State Beers of Holiday Cheer, the Nutcracker Christmas Ale from Prison City Brewing! This ale pours a beautiful clear, amber-brown color. Its aroma is of sweet malty caramel with holiday spices like nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon. The all-spice and nutmeg are even stronger in flavor than the aroma, especially early on. It finished with a lightly sweet caramel flavor. It’s fairly light-bodied, but doesn’t sacrifice flavor, making it a great choice for the season!
