Luminous is a series of sour IPAs by Great Notion. We were lucky enough to have the 8th iteration of this series sent to us by a fellow beer lover in Seattle. Luminous 08 was a combination of so many things we love: raspberries, IPA, and sour. With all that, it was no surprise that we really liked this beer.

Comments: Luminous 08 pours a beautiful, semi-hazy, dark ruby color with pinkish white head. I immediately get raspberries, vanilla, and that recognizable lacto note in the aroma. It’s quite tart, but has a raspberry juice quality that sweetens it. It’s relatively light-bodied, without a lot of carbonation. The Luminous 08 is a really great take on a wild IPA.
