Orono Tubular IPA

I’m not a surfer, so I don’t know a lot about the surfing potential or culture in the state of Maine. I know enough about surfing to know that their could be some potential for a place like Maine – only because I happen to know that there are good waves to be found off the coast of Northwest Ireland. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that there might be some Tubular waves up there, so perhaps this IPA’s name isn’t as surprising as it might seem.

Brewery: Orono Brewing Co. (Orono, ME)

Rating: 84/100

Comments: Pours a beautiful hazy golden color with a finger and a half of white head. The aromas has pungent grassy and earthy hops, along with tangerine, overripe pineapple, and apricot. Every taste gives me something a little different. All elements of the aroma are present in the flavor, with the addition of orange, mango, and white grape, before a dank and boozy finish. It’s medium-bodied, moderately carbonated, and has a decently creamy mouthfeel. Tubular is my first beer from Orono and it definitely leaves me wanting to try more.
