Whitman Brewing Co. and their sister store, Walt Cafe, are a new addition to downtown Saratoga Springs and they are already one of our favorites. I grabbed I Can Hear America Singing recently because we’ve been curtailing our visits to businesses and haven’t been able to make it to the taproom in a while.

Comments: The name comes from a poem in Walt Whitman’s famous “Leaves of Grass” collection. This IPA pours golden and hazy with a finger of white, bubbly head. The aroma is quite floral with orange citrus and grapefruit. The taste has grapefruit, peach, a touch of pepper, and some grassiness. The beer has a soft, juicy mouthfeel at first, with a dry and slightly grainy finish. I love the name of the beer, especially fitting at this moment, I think.
