My wife and I got married at a brewery in Philadelphia and in the run-up to the wedding, I did a ton of research on restaurants, breweries, etc. in and around the city. 2SP Brewing came up in that research but we didn’t end up getting to visit so I was really excited to see one of their beers in my local store. Baby Bob‘s can immediately grabbed my attention and now that it’s cold outside, I’m 100% in stout season.
Brewery: 2SP Brewing Co. (Aston, PA)
Rating: 90/100
Comments: Baby Bob, the son of 2SP’s Bob’s Russian Imperial Stout, pours a pitch black color with bubbly light tan head. The aroma is strong with chocolate malt, plums, and some dark roast notes. The flavor is chocolatey, with dark roasted coffee, and balanced by assertive hops. It’s medium-bodied and has a bit of tingle from carbonation. This is a really good standard American Stout that drinks light, but has all the wonderful flavor of a heavier stout.
