Omnipollo is one of the better known “gypsy” breweries. They’re an independent brewery that brews and produces their beers at various breweries rather than having a main production facility themselves. They have a few bars of their own, and I’ll definitely be visiting Omnipollos hatt in Stockholm on my next trip to Scandinavia. Vanitas‘ can drew us in but once you read the description of this beer, you’ll understand our curiosity toward this one.
Brewery: Omnipollo (Stockholm, Sweden)
Rating: 87/100
Comments: Vanitas is a double dry-hopped buckwheat baklava imperial IPA with pistachios and almonds. It pours an opaque light gold color with bubbly white head. The aroma is strong and pungent. It includes pine resin, orange citrus, and a pleasant undercurrent of lemongrass. The taste has lemon, pineapple, and pistachio nuttiness. It starts juicy and sweet with a slightly creamy mouthfeel before a dry finish rounds it out. It’s fairly light-bodied, with low to medium carbonation. You’ll want to sip this one and analyze it. It’s really unique compared to most other NEIPAs, and is maybe closer a DIPA. I really enjoyed this and would pick it up again!
