Whether you decide to start drinking to kick off the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, when your parents ask when you’ll finally settle down with someone nice, or when the football games come on the TV, you’ll inevitably need a great beer to make the most of Thanksgiving. Here are a few special ones I would suggest that are delicious, brewed with coffee, or feature a low ABV to keep you energized for your 4th family FaceTime of the holiday:
- Beer Tree Brew Co. – Fika: Fika is an indulgent sweet stout with coffee, hazelnut, and cinnamon. What’s Thanksgiving if it’s not about indulging a little? It’s got coffee so you could drink it in the morning, but it’s pretty sweet and heavy so I’d suggest this for a dessert.
- Bright Ideas – Quaffable Waffle: Peanut Butter: People often skip breakfast on Thanksgiving since they’re intent on saving space for the main meal. I say wake up and have this delicious stout brewed with waffles and peanut butter for breakfast.
- Unified Beerworks – Right Time and Place: Let’s face it, you need something light and a bit lower in alcohol to drink throughout the day. This hazy pale ale sitting at 5% abv is delicious and perfect to just sort of have available every time someone asks how your job is going.
- Beer Tree – Mashing Pumpkins: Pumpkin pie is synonymous with this holiday, and even if it’s technically a few weeks past the pumpkin beer season, you should hold onto one or two of them to crack open.
- Brazos Valley – 7 Spanish Angels: If late into the afternoon you’re feeling like a nap is in order, consider opening up this great cold brewed coffee ale for a little post-turkey pick-me-up.
I hope that all our readers stay safe and find a way to enjoy the holiday this year. I am personally looking forward to having a beer and tuning into the National Dog Show, a Thanksgiving tradition!
