Milkshake. IPA. Milkshake IPA. I, like many craft beer lovers, can’t get enough IPA and most of it’s variations like New England, West Coast, Imperial, Dry-hopped, Double Dry-hopped, etc. but Milkshake IPA is a subset that I haven’t tried as much. Love Potion #4‘s can jumped out at me at the bottle shop and peaches with lactose sounded pretty delicious so why not? It’s a winner:
Brewery: Paradox Brewery (North Hudson, NY)
Rating: 85/100
Comments: Pours an opaque golden color with abundant amount bright white head. I get a good amount of peach in the aroma along with some floral hop notes and underlying lactose smell. It’s just slightly sour, but has that silky smooth mouthfeel of the lactose. Despite it not being overly sour, it overpowers the other flavors a bit, but I definitely get the peaches, which is quite pleasant. I’m not sure if Love Potion #4 quite made me fall in love, but it certainly sparked a bit of a crush. Really solid Milkshake IPA.
