Other Half/Bunker Brewing Boogie Board Stuntz Kölsch

Listen, I love IPAs of every style and New England IPAs in particular are everywhere and I can sometimes go too long without drinking other styles. Other Half is well-known in the IPA fan community, but when I saw they had a Kölsch out – I really wanted to try it. I hadn’t heard of their collaborators, Bunker Brewing, out of Portland, Maine but that state has so many good breweries I figured they must be good. I was not disappointed by this one – and honestly, I’m always thrilled to find a good Kölsch. So – here’s my review of Boogie Board Stuntz Kölsch.

Brewery: Other Half Brewing Co. (Brooklyn, NY) / Bunker Brewing Co. (Portland, ME)

Rating: 88/100

Comments: This collaboration between Brooklyn, New York’s Other Half Brewing and Portland, Maine’s Bunker Brewing pours a clear light straw color with abundant bubbly white head (the pink background makes the color look darker in my photo). It left a decent amount of lacing behind on the stange glass. The aroma is of grass, some lemon, a bit of yeast, and green apple. The beer is light-bodied, clean, and ever so slightly sweet with a dry finish. It tastes of lemon, bready malt, grapefruit, and a tiny hint of citrus. This is a very good, classic Kölsch.
