I saw this bottle, with its understated brown cardboard-like label, and was sold. It just called to me in the way certain bottles or cans of beer will sometimes. Barn Beer Wild Ale turned out to be a great purchase! Our apartment has been without A/C for the entire summer and this beer was perfect for sipping on during a warm evening. It’s complex but feels comfortable and refreshing.

Brewery: Plan Bee Farm Brewery (Poughkeepsie, NY)
Rating: 90/100
Comments: This wild ale, brewed using all New York ingredients, pours a light straw color with an abundant white head. The aroma is really complex and interesting, containing lemon, funky yeast, honey, sweet wildflower (reminding me of the common wildflower that I grew up with in Kansas, Henbit), and crisp green apple. The mouthfeel is semi-acidic. The taste begins with slightly tart lemon before transitioning to floral and ending with long-lasting funky flavors.
