Unibroue La Terrible

Unibroue La Terrible(-)This bottle is as intimidating as the name and is even looks the part when poured into a glass. It’s a dark purple/red color and looks thick. The smells are mostly of fruits of the same color as the liquid; cherry, some blackberry, plum, and grapes. This one smells much like a wine would smell, and it has a similar alcohol content at 10.5% abv.

La Terrible packs a punch with flavor too, as Belgian styled beers often do. It’s mostly the same tastes as smells, with cherry and plum being the strongest, but there are some sour flavors mixed in that will liven up the beer so it’s not too sweet. Alcohol is centered as well. There’s no hiding the fact that this one will knock your pants off. It’s not a heavy, thick beer though because of the carbonation which makes it much nicer to drink than expected. Overall, Terrible was a terrible name for this great beer. It’s complex and unique and recommended.
